36th International Colloquium on Group Theoretical Methods in Physics

Aulario Library, Paseo de Belén, Valladolid, Spain

The International Colloquium on Group Theoretical Methods in Physics series provides an international forum for the study of symmetries and group-theoretical methods, fostering advances in mathematics, physics, and related sciences. Its interdisciplinary scope has grown to include applications in the life sciences and other fields, bringing together established researchers and young scholars to encourage exchange and collaboration.

This series of Colloquia began in 1972, thanks to the efforts of Henri Bacry (Marseille) and Aloysio Janner (Nijmegen). Their goal was to create a forum for physicists and mathematicians interested in applying group theory across diverse areas such as particle, nuclear, atomic, and solid-state physics.

In its 54 years of existence, there have been 34 Colloquia. The most recent, Group33/35, was held in Cotonou (Benin) in 2024. This meeting had originally been scheduled for 2020 (Group33) but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
